The sand floor bars and thatched open restaurant gives a true 'no news, no shoes' feel to this island. 'Meeru' has soft white sand beaches, excellent snorkelling on the house reef and good standards in a natural setting. The atmosphere is casual, and the island is one of the larger ones with a tropical lush interior. There is a sense of space and tranquillity on Meeru which is one of the Maldives larger resorts.
But because it is a larger resort, you have plenty of things to do besides the beach - have a golf driving lesson, visit the island museum, see the greenhouse where the vegetables are grown, or relax on one of the overwater treatment rooms in the spa.

Rooms
- There are several different room types on the island, shown below in order of price.
- All rooms feature tropical décor, a king size or two twin beds, tile or wood floors, private patio with furniture, air-conditioning, overhead ceiling fan, sitting area, stocked Mini Bar with refrigerator, tea/coffee machine, IDD telephone, colour cable TV, personal safe, bathroom with hot water, shower, bath accessories, hair dryer, and nightly turndown service. Electricity is 220VAC, 50HZ. Also provided is complimentary use of chaise lounges at the pool and beach and beach towels.
Garden Rooms - 50 sqm
Garden rooms are located in a “U” shaped block of 20 rooms near the Dhoni Bar pool, with a wooden sun deck and a privacy screen between the rooms, and share a shaded area beneath the coconut palms with a lovely view of the tropical gardens
Beach Villas – 50 sqm
The Beach Villas are located on the beach, and are spacious, individual wooden bungalows offering a beautiful view of the lagoon, and feature a semi open-air bathroom.
Jacuzzi Beach Villas – 80 sqm
The Jacuzzi Beach Villas are Beach Villas with a private, walled-in outdoor area featuring a Jacuzzi for two “under the stars”, a wooden sundeck with chaise lounges, a shade Pavilion, a small tropical garden, a four poster bed and CD player.
Water Villas - 60 sqm
Water villas are located at the water’s edge, with private sundeck, stairs into the sea, a spectacular view of the lagoon, the luxury of a large bedroom with four poster bed, CD player, a sitting area, and a semi open-air bathroom.
Jacuzzi Water Villas - 85 sqm
Jacuzzi Water Villas are located over-the-water, in the lagoon…a short walk along your private jetty to this secluded hideaway featuring a large bedroom, a sitting area with a DVD player, a tea/coffee/espresso machine; a spacious bathroom with double sinks, a Jacuzzi for two, a private sundeck and stairs into the sea
Restaurants
- Farivalhu international restaurant
- Asian Wok which serves Thai, Indian, Chinese and Maldivian food.
- The Hagern Boat serves grilled seafood, beef and chicken aboard a yacht anchored in the lagoon.
- The relaxed Coffee Shop overlooking the sea offers a wide range of snacks, ice creams, fruits and light meals. In fact, they serve breakfast until 11.30 in case you are not an early riser!
- There are a number of bars at Meeru. The Dhoni Bar next to the coffee shop spills out onto a wooden deck overlooking the sea and has a selection of cocktails on offer. Another is the little Beach Bar which is at the tip of the island for people using the beaches overlooking the lagoon.
All Inclusive - what's included?
- All meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main buffet restaurant (or Malaan restaurant for selected room types as detailed above). Afternoon tea/coffee (excludes cappuccino), cake and sandwiches.
- All drinks: bottled water, soft drinks, tea/coffee (excludes cappuccino), draught beer, house wine, local spirits – gin, whisky, vodka, rum NB: Bar will only be all inclusive from 10 am to 12 midnight.
- Excursions: One night fishing trip, one sunset cruise per stay.
- Watersports: One half hour windsurfing lesson per stay, free use of kayaks, and a one hour snorkelling lesson per day
- Activities: Free use of gym, daytime tennis court (excluding equipment), volleyball, badminton, table tennis, billiards, football, darts, and a golf driving range lesson.
