 There is a bewildering choice of hotels in Mauritius, but all very different in character and atmosphere. I have stayed at and visited over 20 hotels on the island, and to make things simpler have listed what I think is the best in each category.  | Why? We think this is probably the best 4 star hotel on the island - the location is superb, the rooms smartly decorated and the beaches are magnificent. For spa lovers, the wellness centre is built in to a banyan tree.

Paradis (5*)
