Athuruga has been a favourite with our customers for many years because it is a small island with excellent snorkeling. Recently it has undergone an extensive refurbishment with the addition of the new water villas and the new over water restaurant.
But it is the snorkelling which makes this such an excellent choice - superb snorkelling is available from just off the beach.

Beach Bungalows
All these rooms face the sea and are just steps from the beach. For your relaxation there is a private veranda with armchairs, a coffee table and sun beds, while at the back is an open air shower. Inside, the rooms are smart, with modern features such as an IPod docking station. They are all air-conditioned with a stocked mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities, safe, hairdryer, and fresh daily towels for you to use on the beach.
Water Villas
These have similar facilities as above but with an imac computer which lets you play music and watch movies! The style of these villas is very contemporary with cool colours, Italian lighting and handmade wooden parquet floors. If you stay in one of these water villas, you are also entitled to dine at the new a-la-carte over water restaurant.
Restaurants
- The main restaurant serves a variety Italian, Asian, Oriental and Maldivian cuisines with theme nights and fish barbecues.
- There is a new over water restaurant which comes at a supplement, but if you are staying in a water villa then this is included in your rate. A variety of international and Italian cuisine is served.
