Kuramathi has changed much in recent years and is now a high quality 4* island with all rooms and many of the public spaces having been completely refurbished.
It is classed as a 'large' island with 290 rooms, and takes about 30-40 minutes to walk from one end to the other. However there are many little sandy coves dotted around where you can find your own private spot to sunbathe during the day. There are 2 swimming pools, one of them an infinity pool, and an over-water spa. And at the end of the day, head up to the sandbar for a spectacular sunset in a romantic setting!
They have introduced a special all-inclusive package where you can eat in ANY restaurant at lunch or dinner, and we now always recommend this to our customers as there is a superb choice of places to eat around the island. For example near the top of the island there is a small and intimate restaurant overlooking the sea perfect to enjoy that special occasion by candlelight.
Diving is particularly good with a hammerhead shark point just a few minutes boat ride away, and some amazing snorkelling from the beach from some parts of the island.
In the evening there is a choice of 6 bars; some are quite lively while others are chilled and have soft music playing. The library has a supply of books, magazines, CDs, DVDs and board games to borrow.
We would sum up by saying that this is an island that would suit couples who are looking for somewhere that offers both a quiet holiday but also a livelier holiday if you want it, and one that has plenty to do if you need it.

Garden Villas - 45 sqm
With four built together, the Garden Villas each measure 45sqm and are close to the beach and the pristine blue waters. They provide for our most affordable Kuramathi experience. No Outdoor daybed.
Beach Villas – 70 sqm
The Beach Villas are hidden within the abundant vegetation of the island, but yet only a few steps away from the beach. Located on the lagoon side of the island, the bedroom features four-poster bed whilst the bathroom is semi-open air and features an outdoor rainfall shower.
Deluxe Beach Villas – 51 sqm
The Deluxe Beach Villas are sited on a prime location at the narrower end of the island, their decks leading straight into the azure waters. These villas offer open air bathrooms housing baths with shower, and outdoor rainfall showers. They are also just a few minutes’ walk from wondrously long stretch of sandbank at the tip of the island. Plus bath.
Beach Villas with Jacuzzi - 90 sqm
Located amongst the natural gardens of the island, the wooden Beach Villas with Jacuzzi are dedicated to couples celebrating romance. The bedroom features king-sized four-poster bed and an inviting daybed, whilst the deck outside offers sun loungers for two. The bathroom is large and open air, and features a tempting jacuzzi in the corner. Plus Indoor daybed & Jacuzzi.
Superior Beach Villas with Jacuzzi - 90 sqm
These villas are contemporary in design. Round in shape, the villa includes a wooden deck featuring an alluring built-in outdoor daybed and sun loungers. The bedroom is spacious and minimalist, displaying a modern king-sized low bed as the centrepiece. The open air bathroom features outdoor jacuzzi set amidst a lush garden. Plus indoor daybed & jacuzzi.
Deluxe Beach Villas with Jacuzzi - 95 sqm
The Deluxe Beach Villas with Jacuzzi are located along the wide beaches in the middle of the island. Facing the turquoise lagoon, these villas feature oversized wooden decks with sun loungers and daybed. The bedroom features a king-sized four-poster bed and a built-in sunlit daybed, and has added luxuries such as espresso machines and iPod docking stations. The large bathroom features bath, twin vanities, shower, and has an oversized outdoor area which includes a rainfall shower, sala bed for two, and an inviting jacuzzi on an elevated deck. Plus bath, outdoor sala bed, jacuzzi, expresso machine, iPod docking station.
Water Villas - 52 sqm
The Water Villas are built on stilts and sit directly over the lagoon. In addition to the amenities found in beach rooms, the Water Villa features a rainfall shower that gives access to a wooden deck which in turn lets you step directly into the aquamarine lagoon. How much closer to the water can you be?
Water Villas with Jacuzzi - 90 sqm
These magnificent villas are also built on stilts, close to the house reef with its colourful myriad of marine life. The villa features an airy bedroom with king bed offering views of the vast Indian Ocean, and a spacious bathroom with twin vanities and rainfall shower. In addition to the flat screen TVs with cable and DVD players found in all villas, these luxe nests also feature espresso machines and provide docking stations for your iPods. A large deck at the front houses your jacuzzi. A couple of steps down is your lower deck, with sun loungers and sun umbrella - a wonderful addition to this beautiful villa. Enjoy panoramic views and fiery sunsets with a bubbly drink in hand, with your favourite tunes playing the background. Plus indoor daybed, jacuzzi, espresso machine, iPod docking station.

- MAIN RESTAURANTS - There are three main restaurants where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner, located at different parts of the island.
- Breakfast is continental with a wide selection cereal, fresh pastries and breads, fresh fruits, juices, and a live cooking station offering eggs, waffles and pancakes prepared to your liking. Lunch is a light affair, featuring a variety of salads and sandwiches, whilst themed buffets from all around the world are offered for dinner.
- THE REEF - a small, intimate restaurant by the beach offers a variety of seafood prepared right in front of you.
- PALM - traditional Italian pizza, pasta, fresh salads.
- ISLAND BARBEQUE - in a wonderful setting right on the beach, enjoy high quality meats, traditional barbeque side dishes and matured fine wines. There is also a selection of Kuramathi's own organic food grown on the island.
- ISLAND COFFEE SHOP - set by the infinity pool, this is an open air, all-day dining option. There is a Mongolian buffet once a week.
- SIAM GARDEN - Thai restaurant with a wide variety of seafood, fish, vegetarian, beef and chicken dishes as well as delicious Thai fresh fruits, desserts and Asian herbal teas. Twice a week there is a ‘Discover Thai Food’ buffet.
- TANDOOR MAHAL - Indian restaurant with traditional Tandoori cooking and Indian breads. Twice a week there is a 'Discover Indian Food' buffet.
