This is our no.1 recommended hotel in Kenya for families. There is an excellent all-inclusive programme which includes wonderful themed buffets and nightly entertainment and shows for all the family. For adults, there is a quiet pool if you just want some peace and quiet. There is a comprehensive children's programme and an endless array of sports and watersports including one of the best watersports centres in Kenya.

The first thing you'll notice is a nautical theme to the hotel. Your holiday is based on the idea of going on a cruise - visiting a different destination each night. The buffet meals are themed according to the destination of the day. And your rooms are called cabins.

Rooms

The 'cabins' as they are affectionately called are all en-suite with tea/coffee making, safe, TV, air-conditioning and balcony.

• SUPERIOR GARDEN VIEW CABINS - these are larger with superior furnishings and have a mini-fridge, hairdryer, and can accommodate 3 adults plus a child
• SUPERIOR SEA VIEW CABINS - can accommodate 2 adults and have mini-bar and hairdryer

Restaurants

The main restaurant is called Mashua and offers buffet style meals with different themes. They try and keep to a 'cruise' theme and so the dinner themes are based on different 'destinations'. For example, one night you might be in 'India' and have an Indian themed buffet, whereas the next night you could be in 'the med' and so have a Mediterranean themed buffet.

• You can have intimate a-la-carte dining at Smugglers Cove - a beautiful hideout near the sea which serves delicious fresh seafood, but there is an extra charge for this.
• At Minestrone Restaurant, enjoy a meal under the stars with a choice of Italian pizzas and pastas, meats and seafood. Again there is an extra charge for dining here.
