Treetops is one of the most famous game viewing lodges in the world. It overlooks a waterhole and salt lick high in the Aberdare National Park. The lodge rises straight out of the ground on stilts, and open balconies are the ideal vantage points for viewing and photographing game. This itinerary takes in either Lake Nakuru or Lake Naivasha where a variety of birds including numerous bright pink flamingos often entertain. Keekorok Lodge was the first lodge built in the Masai Mara and is in a prime position to enjoy the wildebeest migration. A hippo pool in the grounds provides hours of entertainment. Crocodiles also inhabit the water, and buffalo might meander nearby. Hot-air balloons take off a few minutes drive from Keekorok, so this is a fantastic ‘optional extra’. |
