5 Italian Villas and Apartments
Many of our customers found that they could make significant savings on the flight by travelling to Italy a day earlier, or returning a day later. Villas are rented Saturday to Saturday, but this is also the peak day for flight costs. We can add a night or two in Florence or Pisa if you want to do this. 1. Rapolano Terme, Tuscany from £370 - £510 per week
The Owners here welcome their guests with local wine and olive oil. They have paid a lot of attention to the needs of visitors and the accommodation has been renovated very well. All apartments have telephones and there is a communal laundry room with washing machine. The views over gently rolling wooded hills are very pretty and can be admired fully from the swimming pool. Rapolano Terme, a medieval town with spa waters, has shops, banks and restaurants to suit everyone. Sinalunga is 16 kms away and Siena 27 kms. Both Arezzo and Cortona can be reached in a short time by car and there are many small towns and villages in the region worthy of exploration. Ground level, entrance into sitting/dining room with convertible sofa bed and fireplace. Kitchen with cooker, oven and fridge. 2. Castiglion Fiorentino, Arezzo , Tuscany from £410 - £780 per week
It is a ten-minute drive to Castiglion Fiorentino whose history dates back to the 11th century. Below the walls in an isolated situation is a geometric temple, untampered with since the 16th century. Dilapidated castles from the bad old days surround Castiglion and in a short drive, captivating Cortona may not be entirely undiscovered, but is still a real gem among hill towns. Aptly known as Mother of Troy and Grandmother of Rome, it is a magnet for return visits and has excellent restaurants. Entrance into a spacious sitting room with an arch, which leads to a sleeping area with a double bed. Kitchen/diner has cooking hob, micro oven, fridge. 3. Sinalunga , Siena, Tuscany from £410 - £780 per week
Inside, the rooms are spacious and most inviting. The furniture is especially comfortable and everything has been thought of for guests’ holiday enjoyment by the caring and friendly owners, including a washing machine, dishwasher and telephone. All windows are screened and a covered area near the kitchen is ideal for al fresco breakfasts. There is also a ping pong table in the large dining room and a card table in the sitting room, plus satellite television. Sinalunga is only five minutes by car and, situated as it is midway between Siena and Lake Trasimeno, enjoys the most varied countryside. There are hills and mountains, thermal springs and spa towns. Within comfortable driving distance also are the famous historical cities of Florence, Siena, Arezzo and Assisi. Ground floor: large and comfortable sitting room with satellite television, a huge open fireplace and a card table. Kitchen/diner having cooker, oven, fridge and a waist high open fireplace for barbecues. Doors to garden. Immense dining room which houses a ping pong table and has doors leading into the garden. Large bathroom, with a bath at one end and a shower at the other, WC etc. Small storage room. First floor: Two shower rooms with WC etc. Two twin bedded rooms. 4. San Gimignano , Siena, Tuscany from £430 - £640 per week
Il Quelcerchio offers the unusual opportunity to stay for a time within this particular environment. The accommodation is positioned in a narrow, side street off the main Piazza della Cisterna in the very centre. This delightful Piazza is triangular in shape and is paved with red bricks in herringbone pattern. Here, in high season in the open air, are concerts, operas and plays, the towers illuminated - the atmosphere is enchanting. The apartment is on the second floor and looks onto the back, over cotta rooftops to the surrounding countryside. The proprietors own a garage outside the town walls where guests can park, free of charge. From there, they will be accompanied to the accommodation and helped with luggage. Entrance is into a pleasantly furnished sitting room. The kitchen/diner has cooker, oven, tall fridge/freezer and open fireplace. One twin bedded room. Lovely double bedded room with a small balcony. Small shower room with WC etc.
5. Monteriggioni , Siena, Tuscany from £1140 - £1990 per week
Cottage Lauro is furnished with typical country, farmhouse items. There is a large, furnished terrace complete with barbecue. A very peaceful and tranquil location. Just 40 kms from Florence and 15 kms to either San Gimignano or Siena, this is an excellent site from which to explore central Tuscany. All necessities can be purchased in Colle Val d’Elsa. Ground floor entrance into kitchen/diner with cooker, oven, fridge and dishwasher. Sitting room with open fireplace. One twin and one double bedded room, and bathroom with hip bath, WC etc. On the first floor are one double, one twin and one single bedded room.
