The Resort

The highlights of Kalkan are the narrow streets, its cobbled alleyways, the harbour, the restaurants, cafes and bars, and the views! It also has a small pebble beach with sunshades and loungers, but for a stunning beach there are a couple about 15 minutes away in a taxi with incredibly clear water and superb snorkelling.

Trips and Excursions

• Sunken city of Kekova - this lies submerged off the Turkish coast, and you can see the columns sticking out of the water.
• Canoe - padde gently along the river (one tour does a lovely BBQ lunch and a relaxing mud bath afterwards.
• Scuba diving - this is actually the best place in Turkey to dive and is also said to be one of the best locations in the world - there are plenty of wrecks waiting to be explored.
• Trip to Dalyan - cruising along the reed beds past the rock tombs until you get to the stunning Turtle Beach (Iztuzu Beach). Wallow in mud baths, a natural beauty treatment which makes you look years younger!
• Fethiye - visit the market and gold centre - the trip includes a meal at a traditional restaurant in the atmospheric village of Kayakoy.
• Tios and Saklikent - visit one of the oldest Lycian cities, spectacular rock tombs, the Roman Theatre and bath, the Ottoman castle and finally a mountain gorge.
