Flights
Your flights are with British Airways from Heathrow Airport direct into Shanghai and returning direct from Beijing. If you are travelling from other parts of the UK, then you can alternatively fly with Emirates via Dubai which has excellent regional connections.
Shanghai (days 1-5)
Day 1 Evening flight from Heathrow to Shanghai, arriving the next day
Day 2 Transfer to hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure
Day 3 Shanghai museum, Bund, welcome dinner of traditional Shanghai cuisine
Day 4 Yu Gardens, Old Town, Pudong, evening River Cruise
Day 5 Fly to Guilin
Highlights - Old Town - wander the narrow streets and take in the incredible atmosphere
- Yu Gardens - an calm oasis away from the hectic city with typical Chinese pagodas
- The Bund - this is Shanghai's historic waterfront promenade, and is great for people watching
- Pudong - explore the unique 1920's style Xintiandi area
- Shanghai Museum - view the superb antiquities and fine arts and wander round People's Square before a traditional Shanghai meal
- River Cruise - end your stay in Shanghai with a stunning river cruise celebration

Guilin & Yangshuo (days 5-8)
Day 5 Fly to Guilin, the rest of the day is at leisure
Day 6 Li River cruise to Yangshuo
Day 7 Local markets, return to Guilin, Seven Star Park, Giant Panda House
Day 8 Mount Diecai, fly to Xian
Highlights - Li River cruise - sail past breathtaking landscapes on the way to Yangshuo

Day 9 Terracotta Warriors, ancient City Wall, evening Tang Dynasty dancing
Day 10 Little Wild Goose Pagoda, Shaanxi Museum, Muslim Quarter, fly to Beijing
Highlights - Terracotta Warriors - over 8,000 life size figures which were buried before the birth of Christ, and took 36 years to complete with 700,000 workers involved
- Stroll through the Muslim Quarter - visit the Great Mosque and the Islamic food markets, and the ancient city wall
- Shaanxi Provincial Museum - see the priceless relics
- Little Wild Goose Pagoda - built in the 7th century

Day 10 Fly to Beijing, Peking Duck meal

Day 14 Fly back to the UK
