The best hotels as recommended by us,
and from our customer's feedback

Tom Says:
The best deal at the moment is at The House, with huge savings right up until July. It's a small hotel on the west coast, and within walking distance of several restaurants. Next door is one of Barbados' best restaurants, Daphne's, and the package includes a 30 minute massage per person, daily champagne breakfast, and the beach service which includes sunlounger service, towel service, chilled water, fresh fruit and ice cream!

INCLUDES   flights   transfers   ATOL

Tips
  • The warmest and calmest seas are on the West Coast - this is the Caribbean Sea, while when you get further south towards St. Lawrence Gap, the sea becomes choppier as it becomes the Atlantic.
  • There are hardly any hotels on the East coast, but if you have a car then it is definitely worth a visit - the sea and landscape is much wilder than in the west.
  • Barbados is not a cheap island to eat well, especially around the St. James area and Holetown. So consider looking at half board or all inclusive packages.
  • Remember the Caribbean is very laid back. The service is different than the slick and quick service you might get in Mauritius or the Far East.
What to Do?
  • Wander around the magnificent Hunte's Gardens, close to Flower Forest and Orchid World in the centre of Barbados and easily accessible from most hotels. See www.huntesgardensbarbados.com for more information.
  • Visit the 350 year old St. Nicholas Abbey, and purchase some Barbados rum from the distillery. See www.stnicholasabbey.com for more details.
  • If you never flew on Concorde then go and visit a British Airways Concorde at the Barbados Concorde Experience. See www.barbadosconcorde.com/index.php for more details
  • Experience the deep sea from the air-conditioned comfort of the Atlantis Submarine!
  • Take a spectacular helicopter tour, a breathtaking 30 minute experience as you fly across the island
  • Watch the cricket at the Kensington Oval.
  • Scuba Diving - take advantage of the warm clear waters, coral reefs and wrecks. Whether you are a complete beginner or PADI qualified, there will be options to suit you.
  • On Friday nights the plaice to come (sorry!) is the Oistins Fish Fry with all kinds of fish cooked right in front of you amidst a great atmosphere, with music and art and craft sellers.
  • Surfing - the best places are on the Atlantic side - the East of the island, especially around Bathsheba.
  • Island Tour in a 4x4 - a full day with commentary as you visit the best of Barbados.
  • Taste delicious chocolate on the Agapey Chocolate Factory Tour. See www.agapey.com/chocolatefactory.html for more details.
  • For horse riding lovers, enjoy horse riding along the beach at Ocean Echo Stables. See www.barbados-horse-riding.com for more details.
  • Take an electric tram ride at Harrison's Cave and see stalactites, stalagmites, breathtaking waterfalls and emerald pools.
  • Snorkel with turtles! There are many boat operators who will take you on a cruise to see and swim with the turtles. Another unique place to snorkel is Carlisle Bay near Bridgetown where there is a shipwreck very close to shore meaning you can actually snorkel it.
  • Have a night out at St. Lawrence Gap and enjoy music shows, open-air dance clubs, bars and its many restaurants.
  • Sail in the Grenadines - fly by light aircraft to Union Island and sail along the beautiful coastline with perfect white sandy beaches
When to Go?

Temperatures

Temperatures are fairly constant all year round, hovering in the mid to high 80's. Nights are also warm being in the 70's and so air-conditioning in your hotel is essential.

Showers can happen anytime and will often be a short sharp downpour followed by blue skies. The drier season is Mid December to mid May. You will probably experience a couple of heavy showers from July to November, but even so can expect around 8 hours sunshine per day on average.

Best Months

January to April because there is slightly less rain.
