Travel (1 night) Overnight flight to Buenos Aires Buenos Aires (4 nights) Day 1 - Buenos Aires On arrival in Buenos Aires you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel for a four-night stay in this cosmopolitan and historical city.
Day 2 - City Sightseeing and Tango Show On this fabulous half-day tour discover the brightly painted houses of the artists' quarter at La Boca, the gracious parks and statues of Palermo and the chic and fashionable neighbourhood of Recoleta, with its tree-lined avenues and exclusive boutiques, and the famous cemetery that holds Evita's shrine. In the evening enjoy delicious Argentine cuisine followed by a superb and authentic presentation of the provocative Tango.Day 3 - Fiesta Gaucha Tour Buenos Aires is located on the edge of Argentina's agricultural heartland, the ‘pampas’, a vast area scattered with many cattle ranches and colonial-style mansions, known locally as estancias. On this full day tour you will experience life on an Argentine ranch and indulge in a mouth-watering barbecue or 'Parrillada', as the Argentines call them, with typical folk music and dancing.Day 4 - Full Day at Leisure A free day to explore the wonderful city of Buenos Aires and really appreciate the diversity and different influences which have made this city what it is today. Take a walk along the riverfront in Puerto Madero and visit the plazas and cafés of Recoleta or Palermo. Florida Street is a great place to do some last-minute shopping. This evening why not enjoy dinner in one of the fashionable restaurants in the neighbourhood of Las Cañitas?Accommodation 4 nights in Buenos Aires at either Dazzler Libertad (standard), Claridge Hotel (superior) or Park Tower (deluxe) Meals Breakfast on days 2, 3 and 4 plus dinner on day 2 and lunch on day 3.Iguassu Falls (2 nights) Day 5 - Buenos Aires to Iguassú Falls Today you will be transferred from your hotel to Buenos Aires domestic airport for your morning flight to Iguassú Airport on the Argentine side of the
falls. On arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel on the Brazilian side of the falls for a two-night stay. The Orient-Express Das Cataratas hotel is located in the heart of the National Park, just a stroll away from the viewing platforms, whereas the Bourbon is also just a short drive away. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy at leisure.
Day 6 - Iguassú Falls, Argentine Side This morning visit the Argentine side of these impressive falls and the Devil's Throat, one of South America's most impressive natural landmarks. Here, 35 rivers with over two hundred rapids finally join to form one of nature's most surprising spectacles. Numerous rainbows crown the falls and at ground level within the exuberant forest, a wide variety of flowers, exotic birds and butterflies enhance the beauty of this amazing natural wonder. Or why not take a ten-minute helicopter ride as the view from the air is truly spectacular and should not be missed (not included in the price, see page 32 for full details). Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight (not included) to Rio de Janeiro. On arrival in Rio you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel for a
four-night stay. Enjoy the evening at leisure and relax.
Day 8 - Corcovado & Sugar Loaf Mountain Rio cries out to be explored and some of the most staggering views are from its tropical mountain tops. Travel by train through the dense and lush Tijuca forest to reach the top of Corcovado crowned by the legendary Statue of Christ. From here you will discover why Rio is commonly referred to as the most beautiful city in the world. After a delicious lunch, travel to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain by cable car and marvel at the sight of this wonderful city, with its countless bays and curvaceous coastline.Day 9 - Day at Leisure & Rio by Night Today is yours to do as you wish. Rio is famous for its golden beaches, why not enjoy the cool sea breezes and bask in the sun? Perhaps you may like to wander around old Rio, the place where it all began, or discover great shopping in Ipanema. After dark Rio comes alive. This evening you will be collected from your hotel to enjoy a delicious barbecue dinner. Afterwards, watch a Samba show with elaborately costumed dancers and singers presenting Brazil’s folklore and capturing the rhythms of Carnival.Day 10 - Full Day at Leisure Time for some last-minute shopping or to take a morning stroll along Copacabana Beach.
