The Andaman is lucky to be situated right on the most stunning bay on Langkawi Island, if not the whole of Malaysia, and the views plus the incredible soft white sand make this one of the most enchanting tropical destinations you could imagine. The trees at the edge of the gardens make perfect shade for a day relaxing on the beach.

It is also unique in the abundance of nature and wildlife around the hotel. It lies amidst a rainforest, and there are daily guided walks which are highly recommended. You may see a monitor lizard strolling along the beach in the late afternoon, plus a few monkeys that live here and countless birds.

Finally, the food is truly exceptional, and you should really try each of the different restaurants. Particularly good is the Indian restaurant which is a couple of minutes along the beach - again the flavours are superb.

The Resort

• Langkawi is a small, peaceful island perfect for romantic couples to enjoy top class hotels amidst stunning scenery. There are a few trips available many of them nature based, as well as excellent snorkeling, diving, golf and spa facilities. If you want to dine away from your hotel one evening, then there is an excellent cheap restaurant overlooking the sea - it is well advertised when you get there.
